Character & Canon: celestia ludenburg & dangan ronpa.
District: highcrest.
Personality:
Celestia Ludenburg is what one would call mysterious. The "Super High School Level Gambler" is very skilled at lying, keeping an cryptic air around her. As a matter of fact Celestia isn't even her real name, even if she insists on being called such with a smile. Her background is all well kept and not much about the girl is actually known. On the outside she seems like an elegant, strong, and polite young lady, however, don't let her deceive you for she is a spoiled girl who only cares about herself. She isn't one to feel guilty, and has admitted that she doesn't mind if other people suffer from her actions or purpose. Her gambling skills are obviously extraordinary, and she has earned a large sum of money from all her games, ruining many lives of those who challenged her along the way. She's told of stories of her gambling days, which closely resembles to chapters of the manga from 'The Liar Games' and 'Akagi' so it is unclear as to whether it is a game reference or if she is lying. Then again she is called the "Queen of Liars", and the manipulative lady certainly does live up to this name. Before she was to be executed she even lies to herself, and perhaps believed it.
During her time in the school she always kept a calm appearance, suggesting that others do the same and adapt in order to survive. For a while it seemed to be working, until she reveals that she was lying right before her execution! She desperately wanted to leave and killed for the sake of leaving and obtaining the incentive that came with it (a large sum of money) to add to her earnings in order to fulfill her dream. She reveals that her dream is to live in a castle with "vampire" servants, but alas, understanding her nature it is unclear whether she was lying or not. But whether this means that Celes is a bad person is, however, up in the air. In an environment such as the one they were all put in, not everyone is in the right state of mind. And before her death she took care to give back an important item to the rest of the classmates that may or may not help them escape the school, which she didn't have to if she absolutely did not care for the other classmates at all!
Oh! One last thing to note is that although Celes does appear calm and collected most of the time, she has shown a more berserk/angry side of her when Yamada made her tea the wrong way. The other students commented it that she was being out of character, at least for the moment. She's very picky about her tea.
